Gala Lawns

• The main concept of the design is the Charbagh garden layout, four-part garden laid out with axial paths that intersect at a focal point with a water feature, symmetrical along an axis.
• In order to move away from making it highly symmetrical, the garden was further divided into paved seating areas which are connected by pathways.
• To make the whole space more flexible in usage for various functions, the garden and the pathways sit seamlessly at the same level, where the seating areas can be occupied with movable furniture and decorated as per the requirements of each function.
• The central area is kept clear so that there is a large unhindered area which can be used flexibly, and this also provides unhindered visual connection between the stage and the seating areas.
• In order to create an element of surprise as to what is happening in the garden, grass mounds and tall trees are planted near the entrance areas to block the view into the function area.
• The drop-off leads into a well-decorated colonnaded arrival area, where the guests can be welcomed. This further leads into a selfie point with installations and various other decorative elements which can be changed according to the function.
• The stage is provided inside the water body to create a dramatic effect with a cluster of trees and colourful planting as well as a screen with a jaali pattern.
